1. Our Tutor

Tutor Anthony Fok is the founder and principal tutor of JC Economics. With a strong passion for economics, he finds joy in sharing his wealth of knowledge to his students. As a former Ministry of Education teacher and having attained a master’s in education, he is committed to planning and designing his lessons to the best quality. Even when he is sick, he will arrange a make-up lesson instead of engaging a relief teacher. He believes that he has the responsibility in assuring his lesson quality to ensure that his students learn effectively.

2. Approach

Economic topics in the syllabus will be taught to students in an effective and concise way. He integrates real-life examples into each economic concept to help students see a relevance in what they have learnt. Mr Anthony Fok uses examination style questions to highlight important points and skills needed to answer the questions. Students will be able to understand examination requirements and practice the skills during in-class work.

Mr Anthony Fok also shares his personal stories in class and links them to important economic concepts. He believes that by using his personal experiences, it can engage students during his lessons and also help them remember complex concepts better.

3. When and Where

JC Economics is located at 3 areas: Bukit Timah, Tampines and Kovan. With 3 locations to choose from, you can pick the one closest to you. Lessons are held on Saturdays and Sundays.

4. Personalised help

Everyone has a different learning pace and requires different kinds of help. Mr Anthony Fok gives his personal number to students so that they can message him their questions anytime. He is more than willing to help students even after class hours so that students can keep up with their revision. He also welcomes students’ requests to mark their own personal work. He gives individualised comments after marking the work so that students will know their areas of improvement.

5. Achievements

Many former students of JC Economics have scored As their A-Level examinations under Mr Anthony Fok’s guidance. Mr Fok is also proclaimed as a “super tutor” and “top 5 most sought after” by local newspapers. He has also been featured on overseas media such as BBC. He is also a fellow of The College of Teachers, Institute of Education, London, for individuals who have made a significant contribution to educational literature or to educational management at a senior level.
